Anyone know what's going on with Tillie's on Webster?
it's been closed for a couple of months, the sign on the door says closed until further notice for "Maintenance Cleaning".
nothing has happened on the inside, place settings are on the tables just as always, the light's on in the kitchen and out side.
I miss it, Tillies has been our default eating place since moving to Alameda.

Re: Tillie's?
Sun, February 8, 2009 - 7:49 AMI haven't heard anything, but the last couple of times we went, the service was *awful*. Bad to the point of contemplating walking out without paying bad. Most of the staff were people I didn't recognize, though I'd seen some of the staff from earlier visits at Ole's.
So I wonder if there was some sort of ownership change, and the new owners screwed something up? -

Sun, February 8, 2009 - 11:02 AMthe one an only time I've gone I ended up walking out cause they would even take my drink order!!!!
plus the price for what I wanted was really expensive. I don't understand paying over $10 for an omelet. Ended up jumping on the 51 and going to Ole's

Sun, February 15, 2009 - 6:32 PMTillie's plus the new b-b-q are closed due to sewer problems with the bldg which the landlord must take care of before they can re-open. -

If this is the case, I sure hope that landlord is compensating both businesses for lost revenue.

Re: Tillie's?
Thu, March 5, 2009 - 9:12 PMI ate at E&J BBQ last night and asked the lady there if she knew anything about Tillies, and the answer was no.
for the record, IMHO, E&J has better sauce, but the place over at High accross from the brige has better meat (Brisket)
