so somehow alameda dodged the bullet of starbucks closing. who knew we could support six locations?

adios to:

Benicia – 328 First Street
Berkeley – 1600 Shattuck Avenue
Brentwood – 7760 Brentwood Boulevard
Concord – 2250 Monument Boulevard
Emeryville – 4125 San Pablo Avenue
Hayward – 26953 Mission Road
Hollister – 1280 San Juan Road
San Francisco – 101 4th Street and 901 Market Street
San Jose – 1167 Lincoln Avenue
Santa Rosa – 1620 Mendocino Avenue
Walnut Creek – 2001 Main Street

personally I'm not too sad - used to live in san ho near the Lincoln ave location. This Starbucks put a great local coffee shop - Java N Jazz out of biznis by opening across the street and offering "special pricing" for months to undercut them until they went under. so now they're closing. karma, I guess.

Ok I only moved to Oakland from Alameda about a year and a half ago.
Since when were there 6 starfucks? I never ventured into bayfarm much, are there some there?

I count -4 - Park street. South shore safe way & south shore next to the bagel place and the one in albertsons in marina village. Or do the kiosk ones in the markets not count?

I never went to starfucks, just trying figure out where they were all hiding...

I love Julies, my man and I always come into alameda for some boogie woogie bagel action and some Julies.

You've got those right. There is also one just off Webster St. @ Atlantic next to the Fedex/Kinko and one at the new strip mall on Blanding Ave. and Broadway...on the way toward the Fruitvale Bridge, which makes 6 total. Ya... pretty fucking unbelievable how many Fourbucks we support.
I'm on a coffee "break" so to speak and saving a TON of money. But if I were to indulge in a local cuppa joe I'd head out first to the place attached to the Marketplace on Park St. Forget the name at the moment.... but they have the richest and smoothest flavored coffee and decaf coffee around. Mmmm. Friendly service too.
