Hi All,
I just moved to Alameda. Does anyone know of a good car wash (hand wash) and also the name of a good doctor (family doctor) preferably a female?? Thanks. Pam.

Re: Car wash/doctors
Thu, January 3, 2008 - 8:38 PMThe only handwash I know is at Southshore (aka Towne Center).
I dig Alameda Family Physicians, but I guess someone else here had another experience. It's a large practice with several female MDs, PAs and NPs.

Re: Car wash/doctors
Tue, January 8, 2008 - 10:54 AMHe's my doc and I've liked him. He's a good diagnostician and is more thoughtful about medications/treatments than some GPs I've had. He always remembers me and my kids and the names of the specialists we see. I'm always grateful that he was the first one to pick up on the fact that my son has some developmental issues. I know that's his job, but they're subtle things that could have easily been missed.
But then again I'm in the medical profession and am used to MDs being 'abrupt' (polite way of saying rude). Maybe my skin is just thicker than others. I can see how he could come off that way.
BTW, I've had the good fortune of talking with their new doctor - Fisher. Seems nice, and I'm sure she's easier to book with than the more established physicians. -

Tue, January 8, 2008 - 9:32 PMI've seen the new doctor, FIsher too. She seemed very nice and thorough, I got her when I went in for a physical for work. Usually I see Karen Kline though, she is a FNP or PA, I forget. I think I will switch to Fisher as my primary.

Thu, January 10, 2008 - 8:31 PMI think abrupt is probably a better word. He did refer me to a great ENT for my chronic sinus issues, I just like warm fuzzy doctors.
