hello,

my friend had been working for a high end salon for many years in the city (previously in NY for 2 years) and then moved to the walnut creek salon...and was not able to keep her SF clients and decided to move closer home.

LUCKY ME!!! --US!!!

she's now at SPANK Salon in Alameda --1912 Clement.

I haven't had a haircut/trim or professional color since before xmas and had an of unruly tangled mess of a mane that NEEDED a professional.

I feel like a star!!! Just wish I had plans for the evening besides packing up boxes to move to storage this weekend.

If you want special star treatment too, ask for Isabella @ 510 521-9100

Double Plus---plenty of free street parking.

:)

There's a caveat here: SPANK is a very specific style of salon. You should know what you are getting into (they tend to be very edgy.) I have friends who had good and horrible experiences here. Check out all their YELP and Yahoo feedback before you book.

I still feel sorry for the bride who got canceled on the day before her wedding, when she booked months in advance. My own cut here was, well, meh.

oh edgy! the last few times I went to Salon One I was given to Crystal and she is WAY to conservative for my taste. I've been going closer to work "cuttin up on College" and Beth is really good and knows what I want.

I have a feeling if "trendy" and "edgy" is where they aim, they probably charge trendy and edgy prices too... $30 is the most I will pay for a haircut. I get 2 hour lunches and the first time I tried to get a cut I entered at least 6 salons ALL EMPTY OR ALMOST EMPTY and all wanted $50 for a cut... I had to walk 4 blocks before I stumbled onto Cuttin Up who wanted only $25.
